The Houston UASI engages a multi-jurisdictional and multi-disciplinary team to assess local capabilities and develop a common strategy for improving their capacity to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from catastrophic events. The Houston UASI covers the City of Houston, and the five counties that surround it: Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Brazoria and Galveston.

The Emergency Public Information & Warning Work Group supports the strategy of the Houston UASI by bringing together a collaborative team of subject matter experts and jurisdictional representatives to enhance local and regional capacities to warn and inform the public during catastrophic incidents.
