Hello,
This email follows up on two items of discussion during yesterday’s Technology Work Group meeting.
The first relates to the regional Emergency Public Information Systems project proposal that will be submitted to RCC. A line item is being added to explore hosting the Houston UASI website on a platform other than Jetty (the UASI website does not have the same needs as a Joint Information Center or other event/incident public information operation, and a different platform may better meet those needs). In addition, the City of Houston does not plan to use its allocated Jetty licenses, and discussion is needed on how that portion of the project will be broken out and if that affects the existing project as a whole.
A conference call has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 9am to discuss these issues. All Technology Work Group participants are welcome to join this discussion, as other jurisdictions may find themselves in a similar position to the City of Houston. Second, we have confirmed the 2019 meeting schedule. As has been the case in 2018 and previous years, meetings will be held on the last Thursday of each month at 1pm at the Houston Emergency Center Room 2081 or via phone call/screen share. The dates for 2019 are as follows:
- January 31
- February 28
- March 28
- April 25
- May 30
- June 27
- July 25
- August 29
- September 26
- October 31
- November 21 (this meeting is being held on the second-to-last Thursday due to Thanksgiving the following week)
- December 26
These dates will be added to the UASI Google Calendar in the near future. As is current practice, meetings may be switched to conference call only or cancelled altogether if there are no anticipated agenda items; updates to the schedule or meeting location will be sent via email.
