sUAS Survey from NCTCOG

Statewide Public Safety Organizations,

The North Central Texas Council of Governments Public Safety Unmanned Response Team (PSURT) and TEEX are working on a Statewide Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) certification and qualification program best practices for public safety agencies. Attached is a survey that gives us a snapshot of your UAS program and will aid in demonstrating the need for a Statewide program. Please respond to the survey no later than March 22nd, 2019.

We realized there is a gap for public safety UAS training, certifications, and qualifications within the State. In conjunction with TEEX and other public safety agencies with UAS programs, we are working on a statewide certification and qualification program that will ensure safe and effective operations.  This program will fall in line with innovating technologies outlined in the Hurricane Harvey report,  Eye of The Storm, to aid public safety during disasters.

The information will be presented at the TDEM Conference in April. I will also have a Google map created to show UAS programs across the State such as the North Central Texas Public Safety UAS Program Region Map.
