Harris County Public Health Office of Preparedness and Response has shared the following information about available training in our area on July 20th.
Implementation Strategies for Integrating Opioid Overdose Education and Naloxone Access
This workshop will build on the information shared in the 2016 NAS Symposium and in the Texas Opioid Overdose Prevention Training Workshops. The presenters will provide an update on the opioid epidemic in Texas, including any new trends. In addition, participants will receive technical support sessions from presenters. Presenters will also discuss Street Outreach 101. Information will be given on how to develop guidelines and strategies to conduct effective street outreach to your targeted community. Links to tools and resources will be shared with the participants to support their future implementation.
Who should attend:
- Individuals in treatment program recovery services,
- Law enforcement professionals,
- Health care professionals,
- Emergency medical technicians,
- Transitional housing staff,
- Family members, friends and associates of someone who is using and at risk for overdosing on heroin or prescription pain medications.
