Emergency public information before, during, and after a disaster can help save lives, reduce injury, and assist the community with their recovery. The key to this is coordinated public information; sharing “one message” with “one voice” across jurisdictions and response and recovery partners. This workshop aimed to share best practices in emergency public information and stress the importance of collaboration among emergency management professionals, public information officers, and other agencies involved in sharing information in a disaster situation.
